This week pushed deeper into citations, embedded comments, and fork release automation. The product work made references more visible; the infrastructure work made custom images track upstream releases more reliably.

What shipped

Added fragment citation highlights. Ranged inbound citations now render as clickable editor decorations with overlap styling, shared click payload types, resource page handling, hover states, edit-mode click suppression, and support for referenceable blocks without current revisions. See PR #885.

Fixed the editor Cmd+A command behavior when editable is false. See PR #886.

Opened work on a desktop testing skill for running the Seed Electron app locally. See PR #888 and fork PR #9.

Built more custom-image release automation in the fork: mirror upstream tags, tag custom-images, build GHCR images for mirrored release tags, tolerate empty tag lists, use a fetched tag snapshot instead of a live upstream query, broaden failure issue text, and derive -custom tags from origin so the process can self-heal. Kept video controls visible on autoplay videos. See PR #895.

Fixed draft cover image rendering and respected contentWidth metadata in the new document layout. See PR #897.

Restored embedded comment navigation context so embedded comments and embedded document links preserve the active panel context. See PR #887.

Notes

Citation highlights made references feel more like part of the document instead of metadata around it. The tricky part is keeping those highlights informative without making editing feel like clicking through a minefield.
