As an admin or editor, I want to create documents and document collections so that my space stays structured and navigable.

🧠 Key Mental Model Takeaway

User can create a document collection (query) either from the document browser or from the content area

User creates a document collection in the document browser → document browser right-click on any area or + on top → a view automatically appears in the document browser

User creates a document collection in the + New CTA → a view automatically appears in the document browser

The view type (compact, list, cards... ) can be changed or deleted at any time from the document collection (related US Work in progress WIP)

Adding or removing a document from either view updates both.

User can create a document collection from multiple docs selection ( as turn into a doc works now)

We remove the option of creating a document from /

Need to define what activity we show on collections

Document browser → shows document collection with specific icon (clickable).

A document can be created inside a document collection. A document collection can be created inside a parent doc.

Content area → shows it as a document collection container (interactive, editable, different views).

A document collection is a standalone content block No other content (text, images, embeds) can be added alongside it

Design

Two distinct objects in the sidebar

    Document Collection — groups documents.

Document with subdocuments — a document that has its own content and contains child documents (nesting)
